THE BUDDY SCHEME

Applications for support are welcomed from anyone in the UK who has been connected in any way with the meat trade. But many of those who are eligible for assistance are unaware of the charity’s existence.

With many butchers shops and smaller slaughtering and processing plants going out of business, and larger businesses having to consolidate in the face of an ever more competitive trading environment, one of the major challenges faced by the BDCI today is building awareness amongst those who need help.

The BDCI is therefore calling on the meat industry to help spread the word to those who might benefit from the charity’s support.

We’re looking to recruit a network of ‘Buddies’ throughout the country - meat industry employees who  are prepared to act as the eyes, ears and voice of the charity within their organisation. Their role is simply to advise that BDCI is there to help.

We want your help, firstly to seek out potential beneficiaries, and then to help explain the grant application process to them. Once you sign up to become a Buddy, you will be sent a comprehensive pack which includes all the information you will need.

To find out more, or to sign-up as a Buddy, simply contact the BDCI on 01727 896094 or click here to register your interest via e-mail.
